You have to realize that this is all about getting USC back into the championship game. They have eliminated as many SEC teams as they can. Think about it!!

Georgia should clearly be ranked about USC because they lost to Alabama.

They think LSU will beat Alabama in Tiger Stadium so they have to keep LSU below Alabama. If they put LSU at number two and they win out they go Automatically but if they put LSU below BAMA and then BAMA loses to LSU the drop BAMA and they can skip over LSU. USC will be back in the top 5 very quickly. This entire process is trying to figure out a way to get USC in the NC game.

frick the polls. If the things stay the way they are right now, the real NC game will be in Tiger Stadium Nov 8th.

florida and georgia is out of the top 10 when they shouldn't, and USC at #9? this is all about the media saying that USC is still the best team with the best defense of all time that even when they lose to a terrible oregon state team, people are gonna want to put them in the NC game. it is rediculous.

I don't understand either. Like I said, it is too early. Who has Oklahoma or missouri beat? Bama..they beat UGA on the road, who almost lost to SC..who lost to Vandy..who has Vandy beat. LSU...beat Auburn...who almost lost to Moo St..who only beat SLU..

You see where I am going. Polls are useless until the middle of the season. shite, for all we know, we could have another version of last year with noone unbeaten...Hawaii doesn't count.

You better hope like hell you don't have to play USC. We'll kick your little Crimson asses into oblivion.

Doubtful. I hope we get the opportunity to see USC against LSU/Bama/?SEC team in the NC game because I think there is a real good probability that USC gets the Ohio State treatment....

You're right that is what RIVALS do. I never pull for Auburn. EVER. I rarely pull for Tennessee (I will when they play Auburn). I have no problem with pulling for LSU. They are just another West team to me, like Ole Miss or Arkansas. There's no FEELING behind it.

I see every team ranked above us losing a game or two. If the SEC teams ranked above us lose to traditional doormats like Vandy or Ole Miss (maybe even MSU will do it's annual beating of Bama), we're right back in the mix again.

It could certainly happen.

I don't think anybody here would disagree with you that the stars are still aligned for USC to make it to the NC game. Nor would I think anybody would disagree with you that the SEC teams will not likely be undefeated and that USC will probably not drop another game.

I do think that if USC gets to play an SEC team, whichever one, in the NC game, they go down like Ohio State.

I actually agree wih scoop. Why is it that USC, UGA and UF ... all dropped exactly 8 notches?

And why is it that Oregon State is the inly unranked team that is involved here, like Stanford last year?

If you look at the poll, by virtue of playing each other, USC is perfectly situated to stay ahead of Georgia and Florida. LSU and Bama will eliminate one or the other, and Mizzou Texas and Oklahoma will do the same.

In the meantime, USC gets Oregon, Washington, Cal, Stanford, Arizona, Arizona State and Notre Dame.

Can anyone say FIX????

So I guess it is a given that USC will win out. They still have to play UCLA & Stanford.
