FYI, charged does not mean convicted.
Sadly it probably does mean he won’t see the field again this year.

That would at the very least rule him out for the remainder of the season right? Guilty or not

Now that he’s been charged, this will probably take a while even if he’s innocent.

Done… life fricked for now… but it doesn’t mean it’s over.

I got charged with statutory rape back in HS. Killed all my golf scholarships. Took about 2 years and roughly 50K in legal fees to somewhat restore my image. Sucks. I know this is a little different. There is hope. But also frick him if he knew the circumstances. Not cool at all.

If he’s guilty he’s lost a lot. If he’s innocent, he’s also lost a lot. It’s sad.

Yep. Damn sure sucks. If he’s innocent, then I hope they go scorched earth and sue the frick out of them all.
Also, convenient timing on the eve of a big game.

Yep. Dude's life is fricked for a long time.

Breaks my heart in a way that almost feels personal. He’s been my favorite guy on defense for a couple years now. I remember in that QB1 show when Justin Fields played Rome, AA sacked him like 5 times and Fields was shook as hell. Crazy that it’s come to this.

It’s a tragedy… especially for the young lady.

If it’s legit. If not, then may she rot

Him being charged was a forgone conclusion due to the optics. This does not means whatsoever that he is guilty. He will have his day in court and what comes of that will set his future path. I’ve told many young men that the CAMERA on your phone is your BEST friend when it come to having relations with young women nowadays. My nephew who is 27 insures himself by getting a video consent from every woman he engages with. He calmly ask them to say their initials and that it’s consensual before moving forward.
Some would ask why go through such great lengths for some pootang? Well I had a cousin that was falsely accused simply because he wouldn’t buy the young woman a pair of Jordans and some McDonalds after sex. I know that sounds CRAZY. But he did 9 years over that fiasco.

Not even the point or question. She’s now gonna have to leave campus or enter a protection program. Both parties are fricked for a year or so. It’ll never reach a federal level so life can/will continue.

Sad situation. Charged certainly doesn’t mean guilty. Certainly means he couldn’t provide immediate proof it didn’t happen.
Hard to imagine anybody doing that.

Have they been good about keeping her anonymous up until this point? I’ve really avoided looking into this deeper until more information came out.
I hate this situation all around and I really hope they allow justice to play out like it needs to.
I know we want to support our guy, but it takes an insane amount of courage to level a charge like this against a star player at UGA. I hope she can retain some level of privacy throughout this situation.

Privacy? If he is innocent, frick her privacy

Did I say give her privacy if he’s proven innocent?
No.
But it would be rather decent and right to provide her with privacy during this ongoing investigation and potentially time in court.

I would argue that over the past 2 weeks, the ADA has found enough grounds to charge him on….not, AA providing evidence contradicting it.
Really sad situation and I pray for both involved.
He has been defended the past week on his character by many, but that does not mean he didn’t make a big mistake.
She could have other motives, but deserves the protection from the law. The fact she reported it within hours is telling.
There is a looooong road ahead for both AA and the female and I pray for both. This will likely not come to trial for 12-24 months. Can’t imagine it being dropped right now based on when she reported it and now they charging him with felony rape 2 weeks later

There will be a Preliminary hearing shortly. The local Courts will examine both sides and determine if it’s the State or Federal that will hear it. Adam will be asked if he’s guilty or not. He’ll enter his plea. Negotiations will occur afterwards to determine if it needs to proceed. If a deal is met, he could avoid jail.
Edit: And quite honestly that’s what he’s thinking right now regardless of guilty or innocence. If he proves to be innocence (in trial) it will be very unfortunate. It’s a double edged sword. I chose to take a deal. I didn’t want to risk prison for 10 years tbh.
