For an officiating expert to say differently is scary.

This to me is why sports betting is so dumb. The refs don’t care who scores and doesn’t when it’s out of reach.

The ref that assists the announcers literally said they’re taking too long. Who cares? Give him the first down.

Look, pal, I know you think that we're just here to amuse you, but it's a hard job, and it's a dirty job. We always have to be up, and we regularly get inserted into situations that most of you would want nothing to do with. And let's face it, we have to deal with way more assholes than we'd care to admit.

I heard the discussion and was shocked. I get that they want to go home, but games can turn quickly and records can be affected.

The entire point of officiating is to get the calls right.
Maybe we should pay the officials for half a game if they dont matter in the second half?
Hell, maybe we can cut the announcers paycheck when they say stupid stuff and are less than entertaining
