Suppose it was your mom that he killed. Would 26 years be enough time for you?

The person was burned alive. Very reasonable to wonder if that is enough time.

Ask the family of the deceased.

That's your opinion.
If that's the sentence, how much of it will he actually serve?
It was a homicide of a completely innocent life, not an accident. Drunk and excessively speeding into anothers car is no different than a maniac shooting into a crowd at Mardi gras or a football game in my opinion.

If that was your Mom or sister would think this? No you wouldn't.....I hope he serves every second of 26 yrs.

I wonder what her family will think when he walks free and she is still locked in that casket.

I agree. People do less time for actual murders. This was an accident, albeit avoidable. I hate the witch hunt against impaired driving. It is reprehensible but MADD has made it out to be akin to terrorism. When in reality, texting and driving is more dangerous. I bet half those mad mothers text behind the wheel everyday.
Outrageous penalties like 2+ decades should be reserved for cases of extreme impairment. I don't know how drunk Ruggs was.. If I have 2 beers, I'm actually sober but legally drunk... should I go away for a third of my life?
