BREAKING—The NCAA rejected Oklahoma State’s appeal and has banned the MBB program from the 2022 postseason, sources told @CBSSports. This is the first postseason ban handed down by the NCAA in relation to the 2017 FBI investigation into bribery/fraud in CBB recruiting.

OKIE STATE deserved to get banned years ago. And if we are wrong then we did too. Punishing kids irrelevant of situation years later is absurd.

Sources saying the fact Lamont Evans did not cooperate with the NCAA was an aggravating factor in the final judgment here. That, on top of the Level I charge Evans had pinned to him. He also got a lengthy show-cause.

Doing this six days before the season starts is fairly cruel.

Wow: OSU’s ban is believed to be the first in NCAA history wherein a school has received a ban without being assessed one of these five major violations: head coach responsibility charge; lack of institutional control; failure to monitor; any recruiting violation; academic fraud.

No, I believe they basically gave the NCAA the finger.

Maybe our self imposed punishment will suffice

Still wrong. This happened when their players were in 7th grade. Memphis should be worried. Their middle finger was more bold

I would think it would. Bruce seems to think it will. We self-imposed worse punishments so far than what they have been given, and we complied fully even after self-imposing.

The NCAA's investigation did not begin until the conclusion of the multiple trials tied to the FBI's probe, which led to 10 guilty pleas and/or convictions, including four former assistant coaches at Oklahoma State, Arizona, Auburn and USC. In April, the NCAA decided against levying a postseason ban against USC. Arizona and Auburn self-imposed postseason bans on their programs for the 2020-21 seasons.

Those schools applied for, were accepted and are still going through the Independent Accountability Resolution Process, which is an alternative to the traditional NCAA adjudication route Oklahoma State went through.

Seems like OSU should have used the same process, but instead fought it.
