I feel like Mason and our D have played well considering our best player is out and the lack of talent at S.

Nah, they have mixed in a good bit of man coverage the past few games. And the pass rush has improved a lot since Penn St. It's still not overwhelming or anything, but they are getting pressure and getting home way more. Especially the LSU and Arky games.
The tackling on the perimeter has been the biggest issue lately.
