We were running the ball well in the first half and kinda went away from it

Because Auburn realized we were calling a run play on every single one of our first downs and adjusted at half. We continued to do the same every single first down after that (even though it was obvious to anyone with a pulse AU knew we were running) and kept getting stuffed for no gains, losses, or very short gains leaving us in second and long and an obvious passing situation.

When your offense is basically working with 2 downs instead of 3 for a half, you're not gonna sustain drives or get many TDs. Our refusal to pass (or even run a screen or wheel route) on 1st down was mind boggling and the female fans in the stands were even making jokes about it.

Our second half formula went like this:

1st down - run with RB or QB for little or no gain

2nd down and long - pass

Now if you're hitting those 2nd down passes consistently then you can make up for the obvious as shite calls on 1st down. But AU also knew that 2nd and long was an obvious pass play, as did everyone in the stadium. This usually led to 3rd and long

Our playcalling was leaving the offense with no room for error or short gains, constantly starting with 2nd and long. And then the few times we got in 3rd and short situations, we'd call a long, slow developing pass play instead of just simply picking up the first.

A couple of those 3rd down and short passes led to KJ with a wide open field in front of him and he easily could've picked up the first with his legs - instead he chose to go for the homerun and threw to well-covered receivers.

Our offense was playing most of the 2nd quarter through the rest of the game with one hand tied behind their back due to shitty playcalling on 1st

Listening to Pittman in the presser and he basically said our offense isn’t built on throwing on 1st downs. Saying we’ve got to block better because we’re going to run on most 1st downs.
