I think we could be more creative defensively but this was a horrid defensive roster. I mean absolutely fvckin horrid.
Yeah, and it wasn’t even expected to be a great defensive team. Solid, a step back from last year certainly, but not great. Turns out we were just trash on that side of the ball, and Herb Jones just provided more cover than we realized for a lot of below average defenders.

On offense, we were supposed to be elite. Instead, we were just good, only because nobody on the roster (including the three sharpshooter guards returning from last year) could consistently hit even the NCAA average from 3-point range.

Only thing to do is flush this year down the toilet, bring in some guards and wings who fit the system (rangy, 3-and-D), which we have a good start on with Burnett and the incoming class, a creator at PG, roll them out there and see if the persistent ball security, shooting, and defensive issues were personnel or coaching. I hope it’s the former.

Yep - honestly it's going to suck waiting until November to find out, but it's all we're gonna be able to do. We won't know until then.

Maybe some hints from the portal additions and roster changes, but how it all plays out will be up in the air until we see it on the floor.

We not only lost Herb, but also, Petty, a 6'5" long armed guard. Let's face it, Shackelford can't guard a fire hydrant. He's slow footed and just can't stay with a half-quick guard.
