is there some historical context to this? I feel like they rush their field after every win.

Every win the freshmen cadets rush the field to tackle the yell leaders and drag them to a fountain called the Fish Pond at the north end of campus where they are tossed in.

Normally the rest of the crowd doesn't rush the field like this.

Oklahoma was #1 once and lost at Kyle Field. I was there. It was deafening. Tough place to play.

I swear, some of you Okies, whorns, and swamp cats must spend hours researching obscure details about A&M that even we dont know or care about.

Chill out dude. The obsession has long since become pathetic.

the turf around the memorial student center that honors our 8 medal of honor recipients & the bonfire memorial are "sacred" if you want to call it that. but continue with your ignorance.

Little to no effort is needed to prove Oklahoma, LSU, and Texas are better programs than A&M

While I find the entire venue to be hallowed ground ... If you're implying the actual field is consecrated, you have bad information.

There are 55 American flags (located atop the third deck and surround the entire field) that fly every game day at Kyle Field. Each flag represents one of the 55 Aggies who fought in World War I and gave the ultimate sacrifice. They're only flown on game days (taken down at the end of every game).

The Reveille Cemetery is located on the north side of Kyle Field, and I guess you could technically consider that "sacred;" but it's just a small plot of land, enclosed by a chained fence of sorts.

Additionally, the Officers of the Day in the Corps of Cadets "guard" the field when the Aggie Band takes the field for its halftime drill.

Those are the only designated sacred areas/situations at Kyle Field that I can think of.

The more you know!
