This post is unintentionally (I think) hilarious. You're not wrong that it was a play design better suited from the 8 yard line. That's not sound strategy though. If your favorite play is an 8 yard play you don't take the penalty so you're on the 8 yard line. You pick your favorite 3 yard play.

I like my 30-06 more than my glock but i don't keep my 30-06 in my nightstand. That's theoretical obviously because all of my guns were lost in a boating accident.

Why not just pound the same RB, Sanders, who had gotten what seemed like 7 yds every time he touched the ball??

Or at least fake it to him and have KJ run the ball in from the 3 like Cam and Tebow used to do at will.

The closer the LOS is to the goal line, the less room for receivers to maneuver to get open. A pass play from the three puts eight defenders in the end zone. From the eight, four or five. Play action freezes the LBs and gives the receivers room to find open space.
