2021 SECRant Power Rankings - Week 5 Results

Good morning, everyone! Here are the results of the Week 5 Power Rankings polls. Congrats to the Kentucky Wildcats for jumping five spots into the top 3 after their big win vs. Florida! The biggest mover was Texas A&M, who dropped 5 spots after their tough loss to Mississippi State at home. Still plenty of time left in the season though, and anything can happen!
The only difference between the PR Board poll and the Community poll was the inversion of Alabama and Georgia in the #1/#2 spots. Who do you think should sit atop these power rankings? Let us know in the comments! Thanks everyone, here's to another great weekend of SEC football!

Ole Miss fan - I mean, what can I say about week 5? Talent gap between bama and georgia and the rest of the field is clear. Also starting to get concerned about this offense in tough road environments given the lack of experience they have. Regarding week 6, we bounce back and handily beat Arkansas at home.

Kentucky fan - Somehow managed to get the Florida monkey off their back and they did it the typical Kentucky way, offensively inefficiently and ugly. I love my team but they still have so many question marks that I cannot rank them as highly as other people. Whereas our line play is fantastic on both sides of the ball, our secondary is thin, and our offense is still struggling to find its identity. When we have the leading RB and WR in the conference, you would expect that the offensive numbers would be off the charts, that's simply not the case. Getting a better grasp on turnovers was a massive improvement. I cannot brag enough about our defense making 8 straight redzone stands at the end of the game. At the end of the day though, I feel like we're only half of a team and that's really strange considering how productive Rodriguez and Robinson have been. Week 6, we welcome LSU. I'm kind of anxious that there will be a hang over from a very emotional win. Orgeron is in the hot seat.

Dawgs played name the score against a top 10 opponent in week 5. Arkansas struggled often and early in hostile territory and the Dawgs came out executing well early. Pretty much the exact opposite game script from what they needed to pull off the upset. Seemed like offensive focus lapsed/lulled a bit after the early lead. I know we started subbing players, but would have liked to see a little more focus all the way through the first half offensively (#fwp). With Bennett at QB, I think most rational UGA fans have concerns about where that puts our ceiling. Sounds like JTD's lat strain is expected to heal in 1-3 weeks... at this point, would like to see him held out of practice if at all possible for a full week. Get him back to 100% for the stretch run. DSOR this week... in JHS, who knows... crazy stuff happens, but gotta like the Dawgs chances. Third shutout highly unlikely, but Kirby/Monken also much less likely to play nice against Auburn as well.

Ole Miss - Lane Kiffin burnt the popcorn against Alabama en route to a 42-21 arse kicking. Wasn't pretty, and now we have to regroup at home vs. a talented Arkansas team. Look for Kiffin to stretch the defense and make the Razorback defensive front run in space, which opens up the most dangerous part of our offense - the play-action passing game. Rebels win in a close game.

So Miss State beats #11 Aggies and loses to #10 LSU, and they're at 8.
Tennessee beats #13 Mizzou and loses to #7 Gators, and they're at 9.
LSU beats #8 Miss State and loses to #6 Auburn, and they're at 10???

Really I just think State is too high. It's silly to power rate a team over a team that just beat them, when the losing team has yet to prove anything other than they can beat A&M.

State beat a top 25 team in NC State and did it handily. They shite the bed against LSU with a handful of bone head plays or could have won.
