We're actually in a really weird spot. I think it's evident that Coach O is not a 10+ year guy, but then again, who is. He was exactly what we needed on the back of Les and gave us exactly what we wanted. All worth it too. Anyone who says otherwise is a complete clown. Unfortunately, the candle seems like it will burn out much too soon.

If we cut strings in the next 18 months, we are in a precarious position and you risk going down the Tennessee path trying to find a savior.

I'd take any defensive minded guy right now who is young (relatively) and proved his value.

- Luke Fickell
- Phil Parker - Not sure he translates to the south
- Dave Aranda
- Brent Pry/Tim Banks

So is Fickell...... great coach and motivator.... Recruited well (OSU) and UC.... Pil parker is a "lifer" at Iowa and has been with Ferentz for a decade and a half now. Both are extremely loyal. SC athletic director Brian Dohn has made no secret of it that he favors Fickell whom he hired at UC just before he left for SC..... Whether Fickell takes the job is 50/50 at best.... Says he wants to keep his family in Ohio, his son is a freshman there, he makes upward 0f 3.5M a year and UC is going to the BIG12.

Appreciate the response, LSUShock

FTR, I don’t consider Coach O a failure. Guiding arguably the best college team ever to a Natty in your home state makes him an unbelievable success.

Coach O instilled a fire and attitude in that team that was very rare.

But yeah, Coach O also was never going to be a long term stable presence.

I’ll be interested to see who y’all get.
