Good deal. Arguably the best coach in Georgia history...and without a doubt one of the top 2-3. Did he have his flaws? Absolutely...but so does every coach that ever coached.

That's great. I really like Richt and appreciate his service to the university. He's a good, Christian man who has been an incredible influence on a lot of young men that he's been able to serve and mentor.

Brought us back from the depths of the 90's and turned the tide vs UT ,AU and even GT.

It's too bad we had a AD and a President who didn't want to do what it took to keep up with the Saban era.

Really glad to hear this and nice gesture considering technically he was asked to step down or fired. Before Richt we had not won an SEC championship in 20 years. We were consistently getting beat by UT and UF. It was kind of demoralizing to me how far ahead UT and UF were ahead of use by the late 90's. We had also lost to Tech 2 years in a row. I remember a UT game one year we could not run the ball past the line of scrimmage. Richt really did great things for the University. I hate seeing people diss on him.

I believe with time and distance the rosy tint will return to how we all remember the Richt Era.

The ending was tough and felt like a failure, but that's simply because Richt elevated our standards and expectations to the SEC/National Title or bust level.

Kirby wouldn't have shot out of cannon like he did if it wasn't for the years Richt spent building this program back up.

Parting ways with Richt was the correct move, but it also just sucked for all involved at the time. Richt is easily one of the greatest humans on this planet and a DGD for life.

And I highly doubt he ever gets "honored" anywhere in Athens.
