Most positives they've ever had:
"Georgia had reported that 90 percent of its players and staff had been vaccinated, but that apparently didn’t help them avoid a rash of positive virus tests this week.
Head coach Kirby Smart said that the Bulldogs now have more positive tests than they have ever had before.
Indeed, the team has lost so many players and staffers to the coronavirus list that coach Smart said he is very concerned, USA Today reported

Wow, I sure hope they can beat UAB without those 4 guys!

I thought if you're 90% vaccinated you didn't have to undergo these routine tests? Or were these guys feeling like shite and got tested anyway?

Must be that Duke's mayo
The cheif of staff of their medical team tested positive before the Clemson game. I'm guessing that's where the spread is coming from.

At the least, this means Georgia’s medical chief of staff won’t be in Charlotte for Saturday night’s matchup against No. 3 Clemson in the Duke’s Mayo Classic. More concerning, however, is the fact that Courson’s role in the athletic department puts him in physical contact with virtually every member of the football team, especially those who are injured.

Maybe some players didn’t even go to Charlotte

Way to not say what he said. He cleared it up.. they have had a couple of staff and players.. less than 5. All were vaccinated.

It’s 4 including players and staff

But you did do a good impression of local journalists who just uncritically repeat whatever a politician or law enforcement PR person told them even if it is obviously bullshite.

That would explain why its full of misinformation.
it's on a bunch of websites that are simply quoting what Kirby said in his press conference this week, his comments being very vague. Every article I've seen looks basically the same.

that part is not true and isn't in the article, Smart didnt say this.
He said
quote:
It's at the highest we've been since fall camp

It wasnt the article that attributed a fake quote to Smart, it was the OP. My bad, guess that's why he didnt link the article,

This is Kirby's exact quote
quote:
"I'll be honest with you guys, I'm as concerned as I've ever been because we have three or four guys out," said Smart, whose team hosts Alabama-Birmingham on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. "We have a couple of staff members that have been out with COVID here recently. For us, we're at our highest spike." "We're talking about breakthroughs," Smart said. "That concerns you, not only for players on the team that are unvaccinated that are playing and not playing because we want everybody to be safe, but it concerns for players that are vaccinated that we could lose them. This is the highest we've been since fall camp right now."
and here is the USA Today article referenced in the OP

yeah thats what I said, it says its the highest they have been since fall camp. The OP quoted smart as saying its the "more positive tests than they have ever had before."
Which he did not say.
