Remember when many people on this board thought that his departure from Alabama was a sign of Alabama falling apart?
Now we have by far the best S&C staff of all time. We're turning our players into cyborgs, maximizing their abilities with the best technology available. We haven't lost a game since our new strength staff arrived.

Yep. You guys lost a drug addict and a guy who married a trans stripper. I think y’all did ok

Yea I was really worried that bamas 30 5 stars would suffer without the number 1 S&C coach

No, we all thought he had worn out his welcome by getting attention focused on him. I don't think Saban liked that commercial spotlight on an assistant.

I remember when UGA fans thought 4th and Kirby was the key to CNS's success

Also, how do you qualify all time?
Posted on 8/13/21 at 11:05 am to CrimsonClover

I think his shtick just got old. Plus, Saban wanted to find sports scientists to use all of the new technology. He naturally went out and got the best in the business, and passed off his Cochran problem to ole Kirby. Total win

It is not a secret. Cochran or any coach could have adjusted if a HC wants it. Any and every kinesiology department in the country knows that philosophy and practice, it is similar to sabermetrics. Some people bein it, others think it's a fad.

Well, Saban was actually in the Regions commercial also, so I don't think this was an issue.
Everyone here saying that Saban was ready to move on from Cochran, but people are forgetting the reality that Cochran instigated his departure by wanting to move to an on-field coaching role...special teams. Since Saban wouldn't give him that role, he had to leave to get that position.
Sometimes the correct answer is the one right there in front.

This had absolutely nothing to do with Cochran's departure. Cochran wanted to be a position coach, Saban wouldn't give it to him, so he left, plain and simple. Had Cochran not wanted to be a position coach, he'd still be at Alabama. Saban didn't fire him, nor did Cochran seek S&C positions elsewhere. He wanted to be a position coach.
Who Saban got to replace Cochran had absolutely zero to do with Cochran's departure.

Didn't Scott Cochran become a librarian? Seemed like the prototypical librarian. Whispers...

I would say that I'm amazed that a Bammer would so eagerly shite on someone who gave 13 good years to their program, but I'm not.

I admit it. I said it at the time to rustle yall. And it sure worked. This goes both ways. Yall also got all pissed off at Kirby for "stealing" him. It's true.

Who? Most here wished Coach Cochran the best, go the Alabama board on here and find the thread when he accepted the UGA job.
It wasn't a big secret Saban wasn't happy about the types of soft tissue that plagued Alabama for a years.

How dare you come to this board with truth and something other than trolling vapid speculation from the perspective of a single fandom. Do you even know where you are?

Do you have a clue as to what he gave ? He produced a massive amount of injuries. Players that went to the NFL combine had medical files thicker than the Atlanta Yellow pages and never tested in the top % of their position group. His over conditioning lead to several loses laye in the season and the CFP.
One year after he left soft tissue injuries went down 50% and UA had the lowest injury rate in CFB.....
