If LSU vs Bama isn’t a rivalry

Why are so many tears shed by Bama players, coaches, and fans alike. Win or lose. They are just regular season games I don’t get it.
So many tears.

So many tears.

It’s not. It’s a great game, and has basically been the toughest game in each other’s schedule for damn near a decade.
That doesn’t make it a rivalry.

I guess bugs and windshields have a sort of rivalry

It’s a big game but not a rivalry

This century the LSU/Bama game has often been the deciding factor for the west. But this just means the best two teams are playing and it generates a lot interest, prime time showings, and big ratings. It is not a traditional rivalry, simply the two most consistent teams in the same division over the last 20 years.

I understand this but why are so many tears shed by Bama win or lose?

I guess they are more passionate about football. They want it more. Might account for the 90 percent success rate over the last 10 games.

During the Les Miles years it was one of the most watched games in college football. Even the personality of both head coaches brought more intrigue to the game.

AJ fought back in a tough game and won. Left it all on the field. Sorry if that doesnt mean anything to you

The man just beat a team LSU lost to 8 straight so he teared up. Your quarterback was balling crying after just beating LSU earlier that year for the title.

Thanks, but even ballers have to be put in their place sometimes

Not sure why this is a big deal here. If someone wants to call it a rivalry let em. If someone doesn't no big deal. How is it an insult by calling the game a nonrivalry?

I think LUSers really don’t know what a “rivalry” is… never having had one.
But … if you LUSers want to think of Alabama - LSU that way, fine…knock yourselves out. Over on the Alabama chat boards though, only about one of fifty topics will be about LSU, which has always been the norm unless it’s football game week. Other sports? Meh..
You see, in Alabama people just don’t think much about LSU, or give a shite. And that is the truth.

I was there. The cajun faithful were in total shock after that one. The "Blitz and the Screen." Had to be one of the most devastating losses in the purple people's football history.
Odd you picked that gut-wrenching loss.

I was there as well and didn’t see any tears shed. The year before in Tuscaloosa that was a different story.

Between William, Sidewalker and yourself... y'all have been obsessed lately with Bama threads.
LSU is hard game for Alabama good many times it has National Championship implications, but that's it. LSU hardly gets mentioned outside the week of the game around the state.
