Man was a damned tank at HT. Hope he gets a shot to be a contributor.

Hey Corch looking forward to football? My 14 year old is on the colorguard so now I have to watch the halftime show lol.

Congrats. I love the Husky Colorguard. Great band and love when they incorporate religious songs. Hope they continue.
I'm ready for football, only a couple more years of kids that I really know. My son graduated this past spring. Worried about QB. Think the defense can be really good if they can have a couple dogs step up for some out going players.

For sure. Most underrated player in the state easily. Had Sean and Armoni both in the backfield but if HT had a 3rd and 1 the ball was going to Sean. His HUDL highlight could have lasted an hour because every run seemed the same. Break 2 tackles and fall forward on the tackle. I know that's a lot of sunshine pumping but this kid has done this since he was 6/7 years old. His dad is one jacked mofo as well.
I don't expect him to contribute this year. He needs to slim down to be a true tailback. I do expect him to play an HBack role tho. Great blocker and can slide out to short slot and great hands. As you know we've seen him reel in some horrible passes the past couple years. If they keep him at running back and get him slimmed down to 195 I have no doubt he can be very explosive with speed. He bulked up when Armoni came in as the burner. I think he played around 235 last year.

Corch and I have talked about Sean Jackson a bit and both agree he’s a contributor in the backfield. He’s a downhill guy who might see most of his action blocking short and long or short yardage/goal line situations. Good vision,
Good power, just not a homerun threat. Might lack some top end speed but is tough to tackle and eats up yardage

Worried about QB.
Hoping Cade Ott takes that next step.
You know the reason his daddy isn't doing color on the network anymore?

He was so much fun to watch. He and Armoni were great backfield. Figured he'd be the type of back to make some G5 school very happy but I'm glad he's at AU.

I’m not sure why he isn’t doing color anymore. I do know Chad Rhodes is very good friends with Pat Smith the play by play guy and former Finebaum producer and now co-host of one of the shows on wjox. Chad’s oldest son graduated this year but didn’t play football but I think his son coming up possibly freshman not exactly sure but he plays football I think. Chad was a former walkon QB at Auburn and then transferred to Troy while tater tot was the coach. Great guy. I think he understands the QB position better then Carruth did but not the lines of scrimmage so give a little and take a little.

Yes Jonesy we have wanted him I think since his junior year when Armoni got injured. Much like a lot talented guys doesn’t quite fit the exact physical size. He may be 5’ 10” in cleats and is probably around 230ish but still has burst and quickness. Some of the fastest feet you’ll ever see. Not a glider as a runner but even against the top competition in the the state still looked like a man against boys. Trussville plays all 7A teams except maybe a 6A thrown in for a good game like when Nix was at Pinson.
Speaking of Pinson anyone have any idea where the jitter bug WR Jaquel “3J” Fells ended up. He was a Top 20 in state player until his senior year and never got any taller. Exciting kid reminded me of David Palmer that played at bammer. Everyone wanted to hit him so hard because he was so small that they would wiff on the tackle

Crazy personal story. I was a little tyke when Paul Ott Carruth was at Bama same as Marjor Oglevie and a lot of you guys know my brother played at Bama for the Bear. Anyway I’ve only been a fan of 3 Alabama football players in my life Paul Ott Carruth, Major Oglevie, and my brother. Both played with my brother and were decent friends. I even had a Major Oglevie practice jersey I wore as my practice Jersey after my mom cut it up some so it would fit a 8 year old. Those things were so heavy you’d break your damn fingers getting wrapped up in the non-tear jersey

Thanks Slim. I coached all these kids growing up in travel ball because they were the same age as my son. Sean 3J and big tim that signed with Bama were all great athletes. Many more are going all over to play baseball but those 3 for football
