One of my favorites (that I've only ever seen as a recording/replay) is the 1981 game. The crowd intensity and hate is pretty awesome to witness.
Texas comes into Fayetteville ranked #1 and Arkansas beats the absolute shite out of them. The recently crowned Miss America was in the crowd.
Arkansas 42
Texas 11
Highlights: Arkansas vs Texas 1981, coach Lou Holth leads the Razorbacks to victory.

Stafford to Jones is definitely one of my favorites. The 2nd of 4 victories in a row by the Longhorns in the state of Arkansas.
Their stunned faces as they realized one of our worst teams can still walk into their house and beat one of their better teams never gets old![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

It was worse in the 1969 game. After the game, Arkansas gas stations refused to fuel up cars with Texas plates from Fayetteville to Fort Smith.

I remember, and I was 7. I remember people in the streets of NLR partying and giving the horns down. A literal parade of Arkansas fans hanging out of their cars with Hog hats and banners. That was an arse whoopin'. Everytime I fire up my old school PK grill, I think about this game. My most vivid early memories are of watching/listening to games at my grandparents. Papaw grilling. Me, my dad, and uncle calling the Hogs and hearing the crowds at War Memorial when the Hogs played there. New something good happened when you heard the crowd. Lost my Grandpa the day after Christmas 3 years ago, and my dad to COVID in January. Will be donning a mix of both of their Hog gear, grilling on the PK while I watch Arkansas/Texas with my new grandson. May seem silly, but I'm tearing up thinking about it. As old customs die, new ones have replaced them. May my little man come to hate and cheer against the Whorns the way I did.
Welcome back you arrogant, cheatin' sumbitches!
