This symbolizes the rings absorbing all of Auburn’s history from founding to present. This also means that the rings are placed under the curse of the seal.

A few days later at the Ring Ceremony, the student dips their ring in water from the President’s fountain which removes the curse, but leaves the Auburn spirit behind to live on in the ring and in the heart of its owner forevermore
I graduated from Auburn University, like my father before me, along with every one of his four siblings, a half dozen of their children, and another half dozen (and counting) of their children’s children. There have been members of my family enrolled at Auburn University in each of the past 8 decades.

This is the very first time I’ve ever heard of this ring shite

Because they started it around 2003 or something. Didn't have it when I was there either and I did get a ring (which I have long since lost).
Bama does the same stupid bullshite, but most of their fans here have never set foot in a classroom and don't know before they go popping off about our 18 year old "tradition".

In this day and age who gets a class ring? They are way overpriced and I rarely see anyone wearing one. I graduated in 1980 and didn’t bother with one. I actually don’t like the official Auburn one. I randomly see somebody with one, but that’s it.
