The stats look great but then I see who it was against and I’m just not impressed.

Mississippi State
South Carolina
Mizzou

And then was just meh against Cincinnati (the stats lie in that game)

I don’t think he is this savior UGA fans think he is. I think he will be about the same as Fromm was tbh.

Frankly, Myles Brennan was about as good vs the same competition and he isn't being hyped nearly as much.

We don't even know if he'll be LSU's starter.

It's more than that. Can Georgia join the pass-happy SEC and not kill their conservative head coach in the process? The dawg defense is gonna suffer and their running game is going to have to find their carries for the first time. Commitment and offensive balance can be a strange bedfellow in Athens this season.

Hard to say. The thing is, how good does he have to be? Remember, they went through a good part of that year with a kid who made Devonta Smith look like a steroid-fueled LB.

Answer is yes and he has the potential to be great. As always the media has make stories bigger than what they are.

Pretty sure Fromm never went over 300 yds in his 3 year career. [UPDATE- Fact Checked in below comments] Daniels has done it in every game he started at Georgia.

If you want to troll UGA fans with something effective, talk about Pickens being injured so Daniels doesn't have his #1 target anymore, how will he keep up the pace?

I am curious to see that as well. And I think it is not as easy to justify the switch as some might believe. I mean, even sub-par qb play will get them 10 wins.

Georgia averaged 30.6 pass attempts per game last season.

I believe Alabama was something like 32.

Georgia made the commitment to change in 2020, just didn't have the quarterback to do so for much of the year.

Checking.

In 2017 he broke 300 vs Mizzou. No other game in 2017 did he break 300. Checking 2018 and 2019 now.

Maybe he is being overrated, or maybe he should be expected to improve after the warm
Up of 2020?

Anyways, how did the stats lie in this game?

There's nothing so debilitating than watching a HC/DC try to figure out why their team isn't nearly the physical force they used to be. Ask LSU?

In 2019 he got close but never went over 300.

So I stand corrected- Fromm has had exactly 2 games in 3 years over 300 yards.

Daniels has had 4 games over 300 yards in 4 starts.

So, I'm speaking to maintaining offensive balance and physical team identity. This is why Bama won the NC again. They produced on the ground and they were explosive even out of 12 personnel throwing the ball. Perhaps the best balance we've had since becoming an explosive passing team. That the tradeoff and that's the struggle to get it right.

I thought LSU had lost their physicality as a team last season and their inability to run the ball was directly responsible.

All the people who are like “Hmmm I think JT is overrated are the ones who only watched him play against Cincinnati. The most obvious are the one’s who say he struggles to throw the deep ball. He missed a couple against Cincy but was elite on the deep ball in previous games.

I remember reading a stat that said that JT had the highest completion percentage on 30+ yard passes in the SEC, as well as something like 70% of his total yards came from passes that travel 20+ yards in the air.

If anything he needs to work on making better decisions on short passes. Sometimes he hesitates too much on crossing routes. Deep ball is not anywhere close to the top of his list when it comes to things he needs to work on.
