He implemented a 10% budget reduction in the first year he was here. He fired multiple AD department staff. Nothing AD Greene has done seems to moving AU forward. Is a peanut counter when money is flowing out of the coffers. He may be relatable to the players on the different teams but what the hell does that do?

I tend to agree with you but I wonder what Greene's instructions were when he was hired? Was he told to not spend and to reduce cost? Who knows.

Even if that is so, he should be out there getting money from outside to help. Not just saving. Raising funds is a huge part of his job and like it or not, that was something JJ was great at. I think he being part of the "good ole boy system" , as so many of you like to say, helped in that part.

There are so many parts to his job. He must be good at all of them unfortunately. I would not want that job.

The fact that whoever is part of the PTB(Board, boosters, President of AU), they have hired for the 2 most important jobs in Auburn athletics, the AD and the football coach, both outsiders.

So someone wants Auburn to take a new direction otherwise why bring in these 2 outsiders?

That is why it is baffling that the President basically has put someone else in charge of the AD operations in Lt. Gen Burgess, and is making Greene report to him for now.

I wonder if Greene agreed to this setup in order to mediate the internal issues coaches are having.

I remember when Greene was hired, one of his strengths was fund raising. I just wonder if he has been successful in the 3+ years he has been on the job?

That’s a very good point I have not considered before. I guess what it takes now is consistent winning to lure the support.
