As a lifelong Arkansas fan, I can readily admit I would like to play Texas every.single.year

Why??

My reasons are totally irrational. I hate the Texas Longhorns athletic programs. I hate everything about them. And over the years, there are far too many times they have beaten us and destroyed our dreams of great seasons. So for those very stupid reasons, I would love to play them every year and beat them, and pay them back.

You Texas Ags focus much of your culture on Texas. My God, your damn War Hymn talks about University of Texas. Texas is in your heads from the beginning of your indoctrination of new incoming students. Texas hatred is a part of your cultural DNA.

Yet You Ags speak of honor and culture and integrity. I like what you stand for. But when I see you rationalize why you won’t play Texas, I absolutely believe it is because you are scared they might beat you. And your fragile egos can’t handle that possibility

Texas has beaten Arkansas far too many times over the years( not to mention Bama and TAMU lately.)

And they might beat us this year

And we will still look to play them every chance we get.

I respect TAMU immensely; but with this issue, you seem petty and small. Y’all need to grow your balls back.

Because life is politics. And guess who's swinging the biggest stick these days? Texas needs the game more than A&M does. Herman’s explanation on wanting the game to return proves so.

“We don’t play a historic rival at home anymore. Ever,” Herman said. “We have to drive to Dallas to play our lone remaining historic rival [Oklahoma]. And then for our players, I much rather know every other year our longest non-conference road game is going to be two hours down the road instead of getting on a plane to Los Angeles to play a night game in Pacific Time, or flying to Columbus, Ohio or Gainesville, Florida.”

Without A&M on the schedule, Texas’ home slate suffers. Which doesn't say much for the big 12.

In contrast, for example, in 2019, A&M played Clemson, Alabama, and Georgia. Throw in LSU, Auburn, and Mississippi State to the slate, and the Aggies already had half a schedule that was in the preseason top-15.

Such is life in the SEC. The king of college football. Now, I ask you, who needs who?
