Alabama had a down year in 2019. They returnedmost of their players not all but a good bit. Other teams lost A LOT of players. Whether it be to the draft or to covid related reasons or both. Truth is most of those teams where as you saycupcakes or shells of what they could have been in a normal season. I chalk that ole miss game you speak of to alabama sucking more so than ole miss being good but it’s your world. I’m not going to live in it.

Everyone with a functioning brain knows once the recency bias wears off and we get a few normal football seasons, people with look at the 2020 academic/athletic seasons as a joke.
Teams starting football near Halloween getting to make the playoffs, empty arse stadiums, teams in the semi-finals getting their season nuked in the middle of the night
It really bothers the shite outta you redneck fricks that people will remember these things in the future, and it will lessen some shine off of Muh Goat team. In this particular case, you are only referring to the LSU fans who post on this website. I'm sure the Tennessee, Auburn, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt administrations view the 2020 football season as a joke considering how they fired their head coaches without thinking twice. Also...it was such a joke that Ed Orgeron fired his defensive coordinator and other staff members who he viewed as subpar this past season.
Clearly the 2020 season mattered to them.

It was not a joke in how you evaluated your coaches and players' performance on the field for that particular season.
It was a joke when you seriously try to make side-by-side comparisons to other seasons.
Not that complicated.
ETA: For example, CPM's performance during the 2021 baseball season led him to be walked out the door maybe a little sooner than expected. Vanderbilt's potential national championship will be an outlier compared to other NC's due to the COVID circumstances. Both things can be true.
