Alabama deserved to play for the national title in 1992 and was a worthy champion, but I’m not so sure FSU wasn’t the best team in the latter part of the year.
If the playoffs had existed in 1992 and UA-FSU had been matched up in the semifinals in the Fiesta Bowl or Cotton Bowl (or some bowl like that) I might would favor the Seminoles.

The homer in me says FSU wins more titles if the playoffs were added after BYU's 'title', but the realist in me says Bobby finds a way to be too conservative (or we match up with UM and choke it away
)
