TCU would have gang banged us in 2014

Nothing about those expanded fields seems the slightest bit interesting.

This is where I disagree. Even 6 would give a bit of a break from a full month of ESPN trying to hype up the same 4 teams every year.

Don't see your Vols anywhere, maybe that's why

I think this kind of points out a bit of a flaw with these "going back in time" lists.
Because the playoffs had been 12 teams, Alabama would have made the top12. It was kind of dumb that Alabama was ranked 13th by the playoff committee.
Which also highlights another problem. In that year, nobody gave a frick that Alabama was ranked 13th, because all the mattered was the top4. And that was pretty hard to frick up. When it gets to the 8th-12th spot, then can pretty much just pick whatever teams they want. There is no way in hell they will ever get the top12 right. It's going to be them trying to create matchups for ratings.
It's all about the money and it will continue to be until fans say enough is enough. Hell, money is great and the big amounts are good for the sport, but now they've gotten to the point where they are just chasing the money without regard to the consequences to the future of the sport.

Butt fricking hilarious? What a weird expression.

It has more to do with the fact that there is an insurmountable gap between the top 4-5 and every other team in the sport.
Expanding it to 12 just creates a bunch of games that nobody will actually care about, all while completely nullifying the importance of reg season and conference championship games.

We had three terrible games with four teams last year. Why do we need more bad games?

In 14,15,16,19 you don’t have the highest rated group of 5 champion in there.

Georgia Tech is out. Boise State is in by virtue of being a top 6 conference winner by taking the MWC.

Wouldn't Boise St make it in 2014 since the top 6 conference champs have to go? Baylor beat TCU head to head.
Bama (SEC champ)
Oregon (P12 champ)
FSU (ACC champ)
Ohio St (B10 champ)
Baylor (B12 champ)
Boise St (MW champ)
TCU
Moo St
Michigan St
Ole Miss

Four is enough.
There’s less and less parity every day in college football.
12 helps level the playing field a little bit and most importantly- a playoff should decide the champion. Not a committee

Outside 2014 Ole Miss, which I hate to admit, I don’t see any other team higher than 4 that would have more than a 1% chance to win the NCG
