So they wanted to see if LSU were serious when they unloaded on Casey in 2017 & 2018 over Heimlich?

Granted, Woodward wasn't at LSU then so he may honestly have been completely unaware. But he is most certainly aware of LSU's Title IX problems.

It was a horrificly tone-deaf move to even float Casey's name. Both parties quietly walked away and pretended it never happened.

And I say all this as a fan of both OSU (resident of Oregon for nearly 2 decades) and LSU (alumnus, life long fan) who thought Casey did nothing wrong (which almost no LSU fan agrees with). Heimlich's situation had already been adjudicated by the justice system long before he came to OSU. But that's ancient history. The point is that virtually no one disagrees that it would be terrible optics for LSU to hire Casey so why even float the idea?

There is 4D chess and then there's just WTF were you thinking?

I hope that Casey takes the hint and stays retired. He is a legend at Oregon State (rightfully so) and should just enjoy being celebrated for what he accomplished.

One other thought I had about this is that maybe Woodward was making it seem like the biggest names were interested to make the job look as desirable as possible. Is that the case? I have no clue.

I do know that when Woodward was hired that it was quick, nice and neat as was the Mulkey hire was. It really doesn't make a lot of sense that it's this sloppy for no reason.
