That was the beginning of his downfall. He had an OL that couldn't run block or pass protect. The end.

If you can't get 4 yards a pop on the dive play in that system then your entire offensive play tree gets wrecked. You can still be effective, but that system is only dominant when defenses have to overload the box to stop the staple play. When that happens AND you have a mobile QB then it's terrifying.

Auburn had road grading OLs in 2010 and 2013.

That was the unsung hero of the 2010 team. No individual stars on that OLine, but it was a good, solid college line.
