And still are. They were my pick to win it all and when they destroyed N C State 22-2 first game , you felt like they were unstoppable.

They lost next two by 1 run apiece, but I’d bet my double wide trailer and 1955 chevy that if they played that series again they’d win it. The best team sometimes loses.

Uh... ok...

But with their best pitcher they couldn't beat N.C. state? Cool

Kopps was over pitched. Not a good move imo

Key injuries to pitchers Vermillion, Pallette and apparently Bolden down the stretch also didn't help.

This is like Matt Leinart saying he still thought USC was the better team just minutes after Vince and Texas came back on them for a natty.

You don’t get to call yourself the better team when you lose in the postseason.

Arkansas can claim they were the best in the SEC as they won the title but certainly were not the most talented team in the nation. That is really stretching it.

Vermillion is filler, the rest were still inconsistent.

Yeah, no. I thought we would make it to Omaha, but I didn’t think we had the pitchers to make it far. Turns out, out hitting is what really let us down. We didn’t hit well against Nebraska, and damn near not at all against NC State.

Were likely an early out at Omaha anyway had we won this game.

They were good, just didn't have as special a season as the OmaVOLS.

It's not like NC State was chopped liver. They had been playing some damn good ball for the better half of the season
