dude softball was trash this year. The only thing most people know about softball this year was they beat OU once (got boat raced by them a few hours later). They have completely tanked since that one season sevearl years back where they made a good WCWS run

Well, we just came back and beat Duke 10-9 to advance to super regionals. Your reverse jinx is working. Now tell us how bad our baseball team is and how we are going to lose to LSU by 10

Lol. It's year 8, why are we rebuilding in year 8? How are we "holding tough" by likely not even making the postseason? It's stricklin's job to build a roster to compete yearly, not just put all your eggs in the Year 7 basket.

I watch most of their games. It's the one thing that my 13 year old softball playing daughter and I can sit down and do without her staring at tik-tok the whole time.
My take is this team is OK...but they are also very young. I believe they have 8 freshman so getting the Supers is quite an accomplishment and Duke had won like 20+ in a row.
This year's Oklahoma team may go down as the best in history. They crush everyone and Georgia was the first team to beat them. We are in good company having beaten Florida...and they'll probably get us this weekend because they are top notch.
Truth is the SEC for Softball has become like the SEC in Football. 7 of the "sweet 16" in the supers are SEC teams. PAC 12 used to be the dominant force and Oklahoma owns the Big 12. No Big 10 teams made the Supers. The best players - from what I know - have always come from California and beefed up the PAC 12 and Oklahoma teams...Nowadays SEC Softball has become an arms race with the best facilities so tons of the California kids are playing in the SEC. Half of Ole Miss' team is from California.
Either way - it's a growing sport in popularity and the Dawgs are in the thick of it with hopefully even better days to come.

F'in A right.....I was watching my daughter play in St. George, Utah at a tournament so I didn't see the game but was pleasantly surprised to see that outcome.

Yeah but the only thing people will remember is that Oklahoma game, so who cares. Our Athletic Dept is in shambles.

I will point out UGA shut out Florida 4-0 to go up 1-0 in the best of 3 Super Regionals. One win away from the WCWS.
