I've said it before and I'll say it again. Gamecock people are the majority of this state's voters. Our university has 10k more students than Clemson and we have similar in-state vs. out-of-state numbers. There has to be a political movement in this state for anything to change. Be it a Republican or a Democrat, do not support any political candidate in this state unless they support overhauling the BOT selection process. There is no reason why our BOT structure shouldn't mirror Clemson's. Until we get the hands of the General Assembly out of who governs our university, we will always be second fiddle to those in the Upstate.

I'll gladly drive to Cola and call him a POS to his face. The question is will the rest of you? They'll arrest me, but not if there is 50 of us.

I think a large part of our problem is that the pure ineptitude of our BOT and the meddling by the General Assembly in USC affairs hasn’t been that widely apparent to many Gamecock alumni, students, fans, and supporters until recently.

Most South Carolina natives know that politics and self-interested asshats have plagued our university for its entire existence, but it’s the out-of-state Gamecocks and alumni who generally are unaware of just how bad it is, and they make up a big part of our support base. I’m hoping the past few years have finally provided the media attention that we’ve needed to actually get some sort of movement going. We have always been a largely apathetic fanbase and student body.

Whether it’s McMaster jamming Caslen through, Caslen’s constant flubs, Darla’s scathing letter, Muschamp’s buyout, and our new medical facility being held hostage in exchange for Frank’s job security, there’s no shortage of examples of how our university is a shite show.

I’ve withdrawn all yearly donations to the school and athletics, so I can’t do anything more financially, but I’d happily participate in some sort of public event to voice my displeasure with the direction of the school and its decision makers.
