The snub had to have been intentional. Was Caslen still pissed that she opposed his hiring? If so, this was petty and foolish.

If Caslen (either under the influence of the BOT or by his own intent) directly instructed our Stewardship Office not to reach out to Darla to at least offer condolences, then USC is officially the biggest shite show university in the country.

If our Stewardship Office simply wasn't aware of Darla's mother's condition and dropped the ball, it is an alarming view into the overall incompetence of our university and its leaders. A simple "We're praying for your family and are here for anything you need," even if you're feigning it due to recent disagreements, is Donor Relations 101.

Either way, you don't let political grudges spill over into family affairs. Darla was clearly looking for an excuse to publicly eviscerate our university after Caslen was forced through, but it shouldn't have been over something as effortless as offering condolences. Surely it was only a matter of time before we gave her another reason to do it.

Our entire university, from top to bottom, is amateur hour. Our president is a political puppet. And there's not a damn thing we can do about it.

The side effect of campus being literally across the street from the State House.

USC has been politically messed with since Reconstruction.

I think the real rub for her was that Clemson (Her dad's alma mater), extended condolences and USC didn't until later. She donated to both schools but USC got the pork.
