I think it was Robot Santa that brought this up the other day, but it's amazing that we even have any current rules left regarding eligibility or recruiting.
They're all just slowly being legislated away.

They still have some meaningful restraints. For example, it would be useful for the NCAA to relax some scholarship restrictions in terms of yearly allotment and total roster allotment. I think programs are going to need to start taking on more developmental players - often local kids - and investing in those kids as veteran stop gaps when the portal screws up the top end of your roster. The best way for that to happen is for some more scholarships available…and maybe some category to note when a player is developmental and not active roster.
