You laugh. But Tua never made it through a season healthy as a starter.

Coker didn't start wire to wire, but he was the starter most of the season. And I believe he was undefeated as the starter. We lost to Ole Miss, I believe he came in that game off the bench and we mounted a decent come back but it wasn't enough. The team rallied around him.

Tua didn't do that.

I'll leave the stats darlings to the Texas Techs of the world. Trophies matter.

Tua won a national title. Jalen Hurts was never going to miraculously improve in that 2nd half, and it would have been another loss, same as the year before when the offense went 3 and out nine times.

as for Mac or Tua, I'd have to take Mac over an injured Tua and he hasn't been totally healthy since early in his 2nd season at UA. I doubt he'll ever be completely healed from that hip injury.

Nobody makes it through a season healthy as a starter, but Tua did start most , if not of all 2018 IIRC
