I've got on 3 layers and under two blankets and I'm still cold. No power since yesterday morning. It "only" got to 16 here this morning. I know other people are dealing with much worse. 25 here now.

Thanks. I was ok last nite under my comforter and another blanket. I try not to complain too much because I know people farther north than me have it so much worse. At the same time though, they are probably more prepared for this. We get something like this maybe every 5 years.

That's tough. We were without power for 18 hours yesterday. Luckily we had a generator to keep the fridge going and run some space heaters. Hope you get your power back soon.

For those in similar situations or where you have to be outside, try to stay active/mobile when you aren’t in bed or w/e.
And remember exposure is what kills. Even without power, you can survive with a roof over your head.

It was -19° this morning in Lawrence,Ks and we didn't have power from 5am-11am. It finally warmed up to 10° in the afternoon.....lol

Like I said, I try not to complain too much because of people in your situation. I would imagine that you have a fire place and other supplies for similar situations. This is the first time I ever remember losing power when it was this cold.

We get back to the 50s Tuesday. One more good cold snap in March and we will be into open windows and ceiling fan spring.
