Ty Simpson, the #2 duel threat QB in the country is announcing his decision next Friday.
Has a top 6 of:
Alabama
Clemson
Ole Miss
Tennessee
Texas
Texas A&M
Sounds like he's leaning Clemson, but curious what the other SEC schools are hearing on him.

His stats are garbage tier though. He’s potential with nothing to show for it on the field

I would to!! Nice abilties and his intangibles are off the charts!...I feel he would honor his commitment,but if Bryce blows up like I think he will? You never know. And JMilroe is a toolbox who just needs to learn how to play the position. So these kids are looking for a place to play and right now.So nothing surprises me...I will say this. There will be a LOT of fun,fast,and exciting kids to throw it to the next few years!!...That I guarantee!!...RTR

He has 28 completions and has not thrown a TD pass at the HIGH SCHOOL level. Didn't play last year at all due to Covid. Don't get me wrong, the kid has been great at camps and he's got physical gifts but he literally has done NOTHING yet on the field. I don't know how you rate a kid like that the #2 prospect in the country. Of all the positions that take time on the field QB is by far the most important. Maybe he becomes all that but right now he is just a raw athlete.

Honestly when he committed to Texas I looked into him not knowing much about him and just had to laugh he was a composite 5-star. No way should a kid be labeled as one of the best QBs in the entire country before they even show anything at the high school football field. When he got action as a sophomore it wasn't pretty either (0 TD 2 INT, low completion %). If he's toolsy as all get out I get it, but he definitely shouldnt be that high to start out with, let him get on the field at least first.
They did a similar thing with Walker Howard for us. Before his junior year he was the backup QB who barely played, but dominated camp settings and put up good testing numbers for a QB, so he was a Top 40 composite guy before he ever really took much of a high school varsity snap. At least he backed up his rating his junior season going for 208/316, 66%, 3,420 yards, 42 TD, 5 INT. So his rating you can make sense of.
I get it's not this CA kid's fault his h/s season got cancelled, but just seems weird they feel need to rank some of these kids so high before they ever do anything.

Pretty much what thunderbird said.
He somewhat reminds me of another former 5* tu QB - Tyrone Swoops. Huy was big and fast but was a terrible QB even though he was a 5 star by all the services when he committed.
