Can't say I was around for the Texas game, but the baseball loss got me harder than most of what I'd witnessed up to this point. On top of baseball being my baby, watching that dropped foul ball domino into 9 more innings of shitshow with a National Title on the line was unbelievably depressing. Game 3 was like a funeral procession.

I remember Matt Cronin was struggling and he had a hard time throwing strikes. The foul wasn't the problem, it was the Oregon State base hit that came after. All Matt needed was another strike and the game was over. I think for a brief period he caved under the pressure.
We were very fortunate we didn't lose the first game. I think the Oregon State pitcher had a bad inning in the fifth and we got the lead. But they shut our offense down the rest of the game.

Only accurate way to describe that game. The kids were shell shocked but if DVH couldn't get them to show up and play no one could
