Why don’t LSU players love their team?

It seems that every season LSU has players who choose their NFL draft status over their obligation to their university.
It has s been some very prominent players over the year such as Fournette, and then it was a few stars this past season.
Contrast that to players for Bama who refuse to be left out even when injured.
Watching Waddle get his last game and Dickerson get some victory formation snaps was a testament to how these young men feel about their coach, their university, and each other.
Is there some underlying selfishness at LSU that is allowed to foment year after year?

How many opted out for Bama before the Citrus Bowl last year again?

LSU has 7 seniors and 2 RS Juniors staying with the team for next year.

It was incredible stupid for Waddle to play but ultimately his decision...Dickenson was a feel good moment which I don't mind. While I laugh at LF7 fluffers he probably made the right decision, you're talking about generational wealth types of decisions that 19 and 20 year olds have to make in 30 or 60 days. I hate it for college football but can you blame half the guys? This is likely the biggest payday they will have in their lifetime. 70% of NFL don't make it through their 2nd contract without being cut or released.

Fournette was a top 5 pick playing running back. He had no business playing in a Citrus Bowl 4 months before the draft. LSU was smart to hold him out.
Trevon Diggs was a late 2nd round pick. Terrell Lewis was a late 3rd round pick. They could have played. Far less at risk.

I’ll bite. At least for this past year...It’s really pretty simple. 2019 LSU players reached the mountain top. Almost every major starter’s draft stock had nowhere to go but down. Big coordinators leave and you don’t have nearly enough time to learn a new defensive system/get offensive chemistry bc of Covid restrictions.
Compare that to the incentive of Bama’s players who were coming off 2 straight disappointing seasons

What else would they do? Not like they were getting drafted.

That hasn’t stopped LSU players from leaving before

Why should they? Ppl wanna bitch about players leaving and transferring yet coaches come to a team, demand buyin from players then leave a year later for a better job
It sucks but that's what it is now

Both had overcome devastating injuries and t.l. was nicked up pretty good. That's different!

Your guys Harris, Smith, Moses etc. we’re projected day two draft picks. That’s why they came back. Jeudy, Ruggs, wills were all projected to go in the first. It’s not rocket science. Bama is just that much deeper and can afford losing big guys.

Yea guys like Kristian Fulton, Rashard Lawrence, Michael Divinity, all returned for the 2019 season for senior years when all of them would’ve been drafted after their junior seasons because they hated their team so much. Lol
