How much was he paid to stay at Alabama? Serious question. He is talented though.

As to where he will actually go, I think it’s close enough that it will all depend on what they do at the combine. Some people on here seem to think that Chase is slow. I think they’re stupid. Something that’s definitely not deniable is that Chase has almost the perfect build for an NFL wide receiver.

I mean honestly no one is saying Chase is slow nor anyone is saying Smitty is better. NFL is a position of need and fitting players into your system while trying to highlight their unique skills.

know he was projected to be the first wr taken in the draft

I’m fairly certain this wasn’t true to start the year

Here’s one where he goes 16th to start the year

And I feel like I remember seeing ones where he was below even that

?????.....I get that it's some myth that comes from the bellybutton of LSU posters. Smitty was projected as a late to mid second round pick last year and coming back made him millions.

Great point TT. Ruggs jumped ahead of everybody last year based on his 40 time. Of course, JJ turned out to have the best year out of all ot them. I always like to remind folks that just because a player gets drafted earlier, doesn't make him a better player. "Experts" are often wrong.

Once again you are correct, in fact, that is the dumbest thing I have heard today. If speed was an issue for Chase, then why are the Dolphins thinking of taking him at 3? Size helps but speed is what you gets you there at this position.

Yea, the other weird thing is most dolphins fans I’ve seen want them to take another QB, which I feel is a little premature, so maybe neither Chase or Smith will go til 5 or 6

Happy for him and hope it takes home the Heisman!!

That was a sick catch against LSU and wish him nothing but the best.

It’s okay, everyone thought he was the fourth best WR on the 2018 team roster

This isn't true - He was my #1 I wanted back, there are a lot of us who were in love with DeVonta last year.

You may be right. I was just going by what somebody said on this board, and just assumed it was true.I mean he is a player I know is real good and didn't see any reason to not believe the poster. So I didn't fact check it. I don't usually pay much attention to the draft until after the season ends.

So Chase seems to be winning the debate with the coaching staff.

I'm not sure about Tua yet, but unless you're going to get sure fire franchise can't miss QB I would go get Pitts or Chase.

On their fan chats this gets brought up but is quickly rebuked by other fans. Most seem to want to give Tua another year before taking this route.

I post on other Bama boards, but if I want to post this one, then I will. This isn't Tidesports, where you get banned for having different opinions. Of which I was banned from many years ago.

Perhaps they could wait at least until they actually put NFL receivers around him.

Oh. Then you’re safe.

Continue to tell truth about what expert coaches prefer over fanbases.
