You don't think Fulmer would've have had leverage if he had won the Championship again in 2001?
I fully understand that Fulmer blew it with the best team he ever fielded but I don't think it's the conflagration that you describe.

Same thing. Bottom line is, he wouldn't have been playing if there hadn't been 2 QBs ahead of him that went down. Would Tennessee have won against Weinkie? Who knows...however, it was only a one score game with Outzen. FSU with Weinkie probably would have stolen Tennessee's lunch money.
Because Weinke did so well vs Oklahoma in the national championship game the next year?
OU 13 FSU 2

I thought we were talking about what happened AFTER 2001? Spurrier didn't quit until January 2002 after the Sugar Bowl win.

I mean, if were really just getting to it, everything ended in Atlanta against LSU.
The reality of it all is that he should've retired when Vicky wanted him to after the 98 season.

That was two years later. Chris Weinke led Florida State to an undefeated season in '99 and beat Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl. He threw for 330 yards and 4 TDs in that game.

One of those to Peter Warrick who told his teammates that he was gonna end the game.

I had to scroll a ways to see if any Arkansas fans responded. Their QB falling on himself gave you a win vs the Hogs that season if memory serves me correctly,
I did root for you guys vs FSU and glad y’all won!

Stoerner handed them the game with that fumble but Tennessee still had to march downfield and score

Not bad...you beat FSU's 3rd string freshman QB that was one year removed from running the wishbone in high school.
Were you alive in 1980?

Peter Warrick
I started watching football around the 1998-99 time period and Peter Warrick was the king of the highlight reel at that particular time. It always amazed me that he never panned out in the NFL. Dude was unstoppable in college. He was short for a wide receiver (only 5'11") so that might have had something to do with it.

He was a lot closer to the 5'9" range.
As a life long Bengals fan, I thought he was gonna help out Akili Smith but we all know how that went.
