I’m actually fine with 4. It’s about finding the best team and I can’t think of a year where I thought there were 5 potential number 1 teams. Does anyone truly think UGA and their abysmal offense deserved a shot in 2019, they were number 5.

It's not about whether or not I think they had a chance. People's opinions should be irrelevant because the competitors should have a chance to earn that Chip.

That's the thing. Champions should be decided on the field every single time in every sport. My favorite sports season ever was the worst to first 91 Braves, and that scenario in CFB is just impossible.

If USC can win every time they step on the field but be voted out of a chance to earn a championship, the system should be changed. I think they'd get smashed, but why should the opinion of someone who isn't playing matter?

Let it be decided on the field.

Right. Expanding the playoffs lessens the importance of regular season games. The regular season should matter. I agree some changes should be made. We’ve had multiple teams be placed in the playoffs despite playing weak schedules or not winning their conference. Would be nice if the committee required a certain number of ranked wins.

It's impossible because there is no draft and no free agency.

Unless you're Auburn 2010.
