16 teams is overkill, IMO. I’m down with 8.

I've been good with 8 forever, but not anymore. Just apply that to this year and tell me if it would work.

It wouldn't.

It would work because teams would play more than 6-10 games in a regular year. How do you not get that?

16 is terrible because you'd have 2-3 teams from every power conference getting in every year.

It totally ruins the regular season when you can go freaking 9-3 and still make the playoffs.

There is literally no good reason to make anyone have to sit through an Alabama-Iowa or Clemson-Northwestern 35 point blowout in the first round. Zero. None whatsoever.

So you’re using the most bizarre year in college football since WWII as justification for making sweeping changes?

8 team playoff, P5 champs get an autobid, 3 at large.

Use the old BCS rules for a G5 BCS Buster so a team like an undefeated UCF or Cincinatti this year would get in. Hell, scrap the committee and use the old BCS rankings for that matter with the AP back in the fold in place of the Harris poll.
