What are our needs for 2021

Lovett is the "take the top off the offense" guy. We have 2, 4 star DEs and 2 rbs over 5'8".
I'm thinking DT, OT. Anything else of glaring need?

2 beefy defensive tackles, o-linemen, 2 big-play wrs at least 6'2, a tight-end who can make plays(we have always had pass catching tight ends)

Is he? I'm genuinely curious as under 6 foot and not extremely fast, I always considered him more of the possession type WR in college.

I thought Lovett projected as a very good slot WR over see threat. At least that’s what his 247 scouting said I think.
Drinks O needs a joystick offensive weapon or a big fast WR. Does anyone actually know what kind of WR Jay Maclin is supposed to be?
To the point though. DLine and Oline talent and depth.
A LB to replace Bolton.

Yeah, Lovett is more of a shifty slot type in college.
Interior DL (sounds like Whiteside might come back) OL depth and outside WR (would be nice if KeKe and Hazelton come back) would seem to be the biggest needs. LB as well

Sorry, exact opposite. Lovett is "fast" not quick. Runs route cuts without needing to slow down. Gets on top of dbs right away. Would be rated much higher if he was 6'. People assume slot because he is 5'10".

I think we get Hazelton back. I read an article where he took responsibility for his drops and demotion. Was also hampered by hammy injury. I think he comes back to try to go out playing to his potential.

I’ve seen him play a couple times. He’ll be playing the Jalen Knox role for us and be dangerous while doing it.

Why Iowa?
Blue Springs kid's coach:
“He had SEC offers and could of had more, but wanted to stay close to home and Iowa puts offensive linemen in the NFL.”

Drinkwitz is now the HC of Missouri and he can do the same at Columbia! He is still not yet recognize by many recruits. Give him another year and that will change. Iowa HC been there for a long time. So give Drinkwitz more time to get the offense going and the OL to be a force and it is showing some but need more time to get recruits to take notice.

Running a 4.65 40 isn't a blowing the top of the Defense fast. That's slightly faster than Justin Herbert ran at the combine.

He was a high school sophomore/Jr. Geesh you want kids born running a 4.4 40? But you're right and the people who scout for a living are wrong.

HS kids run sub-4.5 all the time, and I'm not saying he couldn't drop 10ths of a second this year, but he isn't a burner at the moment.
I'm not bad mouthing the guy but he plays mostly as a slot receiver in HS now, so I don't see that changing in college.

We also need all defensive backs and safeties and somebody to teach them how to cover and that you can't always cover with your backs to the line of scrimmage.

Well. Based on this game, we need heavy incoming contributions from:
The DEs
LBs (we need guys who can cover sideline to sideline)
A run stuffing DT
A legit free safety
——
Immediate impact WRs and a better TE than Hea.
