We beat the #21 team last night, and scored over 80. Hell of a game!

Its at least being talked about on tRant.

Im happy, because it will hold weight, but it wasn't that pretty.

Last night: 46% FG - 29% 3PT. Needs to be higher, that wont get you very many wins.

ie Illinois last year.

Although I have noted that I think mizzou is much better than last year.

Good win. Too early to get overly excited, though.

This is a talented team, and having so many returning players definitely seems to be an advantage in a year like this. This is easily the best team Cuonzo has had since 2017 - and this may be a more complete team than that one with our experience. It's nice to have competitive basketball back in Como

Yes it is, but it also illustrates another problem with Cuonzo. After this season nearly all of our contributors are gone.

You’ll have Pinson (hopefully), Brown, Watson and Braun. That’s a ton of production to make up and if Pinson decides he’s done playing in college we are absolutely fricked again.

Cupboard does look empty for next season but it's too soon to tell. There will likely be a lot of transfers who will be immediately eligible, plus with this year not counting against eligibility I could see Dru Smith, Buggs, and Mitch Smith returning. Tilmon, Mark Smith, and Pinson I would guess will take their shot at a pro league but who knows. Wouldn't be surprised if one or two of the 2021 freshman can contribute early as well

I could totally see Dru staying just for extra schooling.

Makes sense. Cuonzo's contract allows him to make the tourney once every 4 years and the school can't fire him. No incentive for balanced recruiting or year over year success.

I’ve been saying this since he was hired, that year 4 is what I’m excited to see. At his first 3 stops, he only had 3 years, so we’ve never seen a Cuonzo Martin 4 year program. You can’t really build a program in 3 years without cheating (see Will Wade).

Year 4 is finally here, and I really think this will be our first payoff year on the Cuonzo Martin investment. It’s only 2 games, I’m fully aware of that, but I’ve been very impressed so far.

This incoming class might have a hidden gem or two. And if we have a great year, we may land some mid-top tier regional recruits.
