I grew up in East Central MS about 55 minutes from Jackson. Most all of my early college games(some State and some Ole Miss) in the 80's were attended in Jackson. I saw some good games and had some good times there.

Playing those games in Jackson held back stadium development in Mississippi at both schools. It wasn't just the Egg Bowl that was played there. For most years, the "big games" were played in Jackson and the campuses hosted the smaller games. 1996 was the last time we did that. Thank goodness.
