You know it became a farce/asterisk season to Auburn and LSU fans when they weren’t in contention anymore and rivals like Alabama, Florida, and Texas A&M were. If their teams were in contention, there wouldn’t be a post from them about asterisks or farces.

I don't disagree with you, but the number of fans, in general, who have completely checked out has been at an all-time high. Obviously, if your team is in contention you haven't, but most years you still have fans fully invested even if they aren't vying for a conference or national title. This year just feels like the only fans fully invested in the season, as a whole, are a few teams from the SEC and a handful of other teams around the country. It's not surprising given the crappy circumstances of this year, but it's sad, and this isn't even limited to college football. It's been this way across all sports at all levels. I'm just waiting for the day when all this bullshite is over and we can get back to normal football weekends and all that comes with them. Despite LSU sucking, I still hate that I can't enjoy football Saturdays the way I have been my entire life. Even during the 90s when LSU sucked more than they didn't, it still was something I looked forward to every weekend because, at least in SEC country, football season has always been a lot more than the 60 minutes of football on Saturdays. ("it just means more" )

I’ve been to Baton Rouge... its a great facility and if you don’t act like a shithead, the fans were always cool with me/family. And the tailgate atmosphere and food were beyond excellent.

TBF, I’ve had good experiences at every SEC stadium I’ve visited. Even wearing Alabama gear. Ohh yer gonna catch an ear full... but its usually light hearted and not nothing I didn’t expect.

I think it has more to do with just conference only schedules. Just look at the SEC, we talk about how tough the conference is, and it is, so most teams will end up about .500. Without the cupcakes or the big OOC games the season looks diminished.

If LSU and TexasAM had played the cupcakes this year, their record would look a lot better headed into this weekend.

The season is not going badly, the cream is rising to the top. Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State were predicted to do well this season and make the playoffs, and they will.

Now the one item that might make the season interesting is that the PAC12 has barely started their season, so IF they had a team that could make the playoffs, that slot will go to (maybe) BYU or Cinny.
