Not very familiar with the area. Looking for some advice.

1. What are the best school districts in the Columbia/Lexington area?
2. What are the best neighborhoods in the Columbia/Lexington area?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Kings Grant in forest acres is a very nice neighborhood
Governors Grant near Lexington is REALLY nice
Spring Valley in NE Columbia is a good option too
Wildewood in NE Columbia is also real nice, golf course hood
Westover acres in west cola is a good neighborhood
Saluda Chase is a good one near Westover
Charwood out near Pine Ridge is a good option too, good golf out there and closer to the woods for some hunting

Don't do it. Montgomery with none of the charm....horrible little town in a horrible little state. Even the redeeming areas of SC are shite....with the exception of some of the up country....

Richland 1 School District in downtown Columbia is pretty terrible UNLESS you live in Forest Acres, Jackson Heights, Heathwood, or Lake Katherine. The Brennan/Satchelford - Crayton - AC Flora line is actually pretty good. All of those areas are 10-12 minutes east of downtown and very close to anything you would need.

I agree with the other posters that Lexington probably provides the most bang for your buck. Homes in most areas over there sell for around $110-$125/square foot vs $150 plus per square foot in the areas I listed above. Depends on what you are looking for.

Chapin and Blythewood are also great areas but are 30 minutes or so from down town.
