This thought just hit me tonight, although something tells me the hatred for Gus on this board wouldn’t be much different than it is now.

Eh, the overturned TD vs UK may not have determined the outcome. Still as good a chance we would have won that one anyway.
By all rights, we rode a couple of first-year HC blunders and typical SEC officiating incompetence to the win over Arky.
I have a feeling it won’t make that much difference in our season, though. This year has kind of a 2011 feel to it, without the guaranteed rent-a-wins. I’m still hoping we manage to shore up our weaknesses enough to squeeze out a 6-4 record as I predicted, but our ineffectiveness against arguably the least talented team on our schedule doesn’t fill me with optimism.

Watching us against UK I thought in a normal year we'd be a 3-5 SEC west team. Not sure if we will finish 3-7, 4-6 or 5-5 but it feels like the caliber of team that normally goes 3-5 in conference.

But we’re not and we are finding a way to win.
I do think we found some offensive identity last week as a power running team. We pushed Arky’s d-line around that first half, but then abandoned it. That 10-play drive in the first half was 10 straight runs with a TD.

Oct 17. at South Carolina
Oct 24. at Ole Miss
Oct 31. LSU
Nov 14. at Mississippi State
Nov 21. Tennessee
Nov 28. That School Up North
December 5 TAMU
I only see 1 definite loss and 6 toss up games. 6-4... so if you added two easy games, our traditional 8-4

I expect us to win the home games and lose on the road, which would put us at 5-5. To be honest, I think I’m more concerned about the defense than the offense at this point.

The rest of the conference looks that same caliber sans Georgia and Alabama.

Bump
Two controversial calls from being 0-4
It’s time to reassess our record predictions since I had USCE as a win with as much conviction as you can possibly get in SEC play.
Revised predicted record: 0-10
