The gif is here, How anyone can't put the blame on Mathis for this terrible throw is beyond me.


Because it was a spot route and he threw it to where Burton was supposed to settle in at.

In the quarterback world, a properly executed spot throw leaves the QBs hand before the break.

The other way is to rely on armstrength to make up for not getting the ball out soon enough. Stafford was guilty of this early in his career and it created a lot of drops.

I've seen people excuse that throw for that reason and I know Kirby said it wasnt his fault. I get that the WR was supposed to stop there, but when I watch it, the WR is obviously still running inside before Dwan even begins his throw, so I think even though the WR was wrong it was still a pretty bad throw.
