He was forced into that situation when we lost our top 5 pass catchers in 2018.

He wasn't "forced" into anything.
He won the starting job coming out of 2019 fall camp.Stop acting like he was suddenly thrust into the starting position out of nowhere.

The fact that he came in

What?

had never taken a significant snap in his life in 2018 and he was starting in 2019. I’ve literally never heard of that.

Wow,you really haven't watched much CFB.You've never heard of a WR not starting after barely playing the year before?
How bout Justin Jefferson at LSU?
Played all of 2 games as a freshman with 2 receptions.Started all 13 games in '18 and had 870+ yards his next year. There are numerous other examples.

Matt Landers would not have started for any Georgia team in the last 10 years other than 2019. He had no business starting.

You’re right. I was thinking of someone else

I was talking about at Georgia. Landers is the only guy to go from 3rd-4th string to starting in one year in a long time.

I think you’re missing the point of the post. You’re acting like I’m saying he’s gonna be an all-American. The dude has 2-3 years of eligibility left and everyone is ready to kick him off the team after one year. I’m hoping he can come off the bench and have a nice year this year.

And your argument that “he’s been in the program for 3 years so he can’t improve” is dumb. Plenty of guys waited until their 3rd 4th or 5th year to make an impact. Rantavious Wooten and Isaiah McKenzie come to mind.
