They may not matter on a national scale but you do realize college sports are primarily regionally based? If there are no teams to fill a conference then the conference folds and the schools that do matter nationally either go independent(which fricks things up for playoffs) or get square pegged ito a round hole in a conference they don't fit regionally. That alone gives credence to the fact that college sports will never be the same as we know it. I have confidence it will get worked out somehow down the road. Too much money at stake for those irrelevent schools that are along for the payout.

teams like oregon state and purdue aren't going to fold their football program becuase of one year of loss. When things get back to normal they will for sure have taken a hit, but they will be just as much of an also-ran in their conference than they typically are. Maybe they'll finish last in the conference instead of almost last. But teams like that are 90 years out of 100 not going to compete wiht the big dawgs in their conference anwyay.
